The annual Gozo Philatelic Society Exhibition has always been held at the Gozo Ministry Halls. However, this year due to structural problems this will not be possible and Il-Hagar museum has accepted to host it.
A different venue for this 24th edition means that there has had to be various innovatory adjustments, the Society said.
The exhibits, both Junior and Open, will be housed on levels -1 and 1 as well as Audio Visual Hall 1. t said that the level is “guaranteed to be very good,” with traditional presentations, postal history and social philately.
Specially prepared personalised stamps and covers, supported by MaltaPost, will be available. A complete collection of these will also be on display. Further incentives will be packs of free stamps and copies of the GPS periodical for all.
Numerous institutions have been supportive, the GPS said.
The 24th Annual GPS Exhibition will open on Sunday, the 12th of November, at 10am, to be dismantled on Saturday, the 25th in the afternoon.
Entrance to the museum in St George’s Square, Victoria, is free, opening hours are 9am to 5pm seven days a week.
GPS chaplain Fr Joseph Attard will be saying mass for the repose of deceased members at St George’s Basilica on Wednesday, the 15th of November at 4.45pm, to which all are invited.
