Police investigate incident between two students at school in Gozo

The Ministry for Education, Sports, Youth, Research and Innovation said that it has been informed of an incident that occurred between two students at a school in Gozo.
The Ministry said that “school officials intervened immediately to ensure that the situation was controlled and that the safety of all students was protected.”
It stressed that “the health and safety of children and young people in the educational environment was, is and remains an absolute priority of the Ministry. The Police are investigating to determine the circumstances of the case and to ensure that all necessary steps are taken.”
The Ministry concluded by saying that in December an Advisory Board was appointed with the aim of offering “strategic and operational recommendations to the Ministry for Education, Youth, Sports, Research and Innovation regarding a Behaviour Control Framework, ensuring that any implementation is aligned with national legislation, educational standards and also the principles of student and educator well-being, in accordance with the National Education Strategy.”
