The Ministry for Gozo announced this afternoon that weekend visitors to Gozo started to increase from Mid-August onwards. It also emerged from the figures issued by Gozo Channel, that between Thursday and Monday, the 17th to the 21st of September, the company’s ships carried nearly 79,000 passengers and 20,780 vehicles. This means an increase of more than 9000 passengers and 3600 vehicles on figures recorded over the same period last year.

The organisation of various cultural activities and entertainment in different villages around Gozo, meant that Gozo had a variety of attractions to offer the weekend visitor.

Two events that have been organised in Victoria in October will attract a large number of opera lovers. The opera Aida will be performed at the Aurora Theatre on Saturday, the 10th of October. Rigoletto will be performed at the Astra Theatre on Thursday, the 29th and Saturday the 31st of October.
