A 37-year old motorcyclist from Xewkija was seriously injured after being involved in a traffic accident on Tuesday evening.

Police said that the accident happened at around 8.45pm in Mgarr Road, Xewkija.

The man, who was riding a Honda bike, was involved in a collision with a Maruti Gypsy being driven by a 67-year old man from St Paul’s Bay.

The motorcyclist was given first assistance by a medical team at the scene before being taken to the Gozo General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
