The New Year is approaching, so why not make a resolution that can help save a life and donate blood during 2024.

The National Blood Transfusion Service said that the need for blood is constant and with each donation you can help save up to 3 lives.

The Service is urging Gozitans to show their solidarity and please support sick patients in the hospitals of Gozo and Malta by making a donation on one of the four dates that are shown below during January, the first one being Tuesday, the 9th of January.

Donations can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club:

Sundays – last registration 1:00pm

14th January from 8:00am-1:00pm

28th January from 8:00am-1:00pm

Tuesdays – last registration 5:00pm

9th January 1:00pm to 5:00pm

23rd January 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

Important notes from the National Blood Transfusion Service

• Bring your Maltese ID Card, driving licence or passport.

• Drink some water before your donation .

• Wear loose fitting clothes/sleeves.

• The face mask is still mandatory.
