February will see the start of Carnival festivities in Gozo, with this year’s programme launched for the Gozo Regional Carnival for activities taking place between the 4th and 13th of February.

Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri said that the activities which are aimed for all the family will take place in the centre of Victoria, as well as various villages across the island.

The island is gearing up for Carnival fever and the final preparations are underway so that Gozo is ready to welcome the thousands of visitors, both local and tourists, for this very popular event.

The Gozo Committee for National and Regional Celebrations Committee takes care of the organisation of the Gozo Regional Carnival, which in Victoria will start on the 9th of February and continue until the 13th of February.

In addition, the Ministry said that it also assists a number of Local Gozitan Councils that organise Carnival-related evenings in their respective communities.

Among them is the Nadur Spontaneous Carnival, which grows in popularity from year to year and this year will take place from the 9th to the 13th of February after sunset.

On the 4th of February there will be Carnival activities organised in Gharb among others.
