December’s unemployment rate stood at 2.4% – NSO

The National Statistics Office latest data show that in December, the monthly unemployment rate was 2.4%, at par with November.
For December, in a breakdown, the unemployment rate for males remains stable at 2.3% while the rate for females stood at 2.6%, down by 0.1 percentage points compared to November.
The number of unemployed persons in December was 7,558, with the 25 to 74 age group being the major contributor to the overall level of unemployment at 5,527, the NSO said.
The seasonally adjusted number of unemployed youths amounted to 2,032.
The unemployment rate during the same month for persons aged 15 to 24 years (youth unemployment rate) was 6.9%, while the rate for those between 25 and 74 years stood at 2.0%, increasing by 0.1 percentage points from November.
