Next Saturday is the launch of GEMS 28, the catalogue for the current collective temporary exhibition at Il-Hagar Museum, Gozo.

Unknown Prescription – edited by exhibition curator Austin Camilleri with Joseph Borg and Maria Frendo – is a full-colour 140 page catalogue, including reproductions of the exhibits, as well as a range of write-ups.

After a foreword from museum founder Mgr Joseph Farrugia, visual artist Austin Camilleri presents a detailed Curatorial Note.

Philosophy lecturer Niki Young explores Mario Abela’s work. Creative producer Gabriel Zammit then deals with Charles Balzan.

The third collective exhibitor Justin Falzon is discussed by Maria Frendo. Besides these essays, the volume also includes biographical notes of the three exhibitors.

Unknown Prescription runs until the 14th of April in four halls around Il-Hagar, “which continues with its policy of democratising wide art appreciation by not charging entrance fees,” it said.

The museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria. Normal opening hours are 9am to 5pm seven days a week.
