The Environment and Resources Authority has been monitoring marine litter levels on six different beach locations across Malta and Gozo

The ERA explained that this monitoring process forms part of the implementation of Malta’s updated Monitoring Programme for marine litter under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive.

It said that such exercises, along with similar activities, enable ERA to assess trends in marine litter and further refine management strategies.
