The 2024 ‘More Inclusive Communities’ scheme has been launched, with the aim of continuing to promote volunteering among local communities and fostering a culture of inclusion.

The Government said that this scheme aims to assist applicants to implement projects or initiatives through which stronger communities are built so that everyone has the opportunity to succeed and invites voluntary organisations to propose innovative projects with the aim of promoting inclusion.

Each proposal that is submitted must be compared to one of the objectives that emerge from the two schemes, while a specific reference must be made to the objective that is being addressed through the project or initiative for which the funds are being obtained, the scheme is worth €250,000 and each project can receive up to a maximum of €10,000.

Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli said “among the dearest to all, the communities around us are the ones that make us Maltese and Gozitan. From the clubs to the squares of our villages, they offer a place where people can meet and integrate with each other. That is why it is our obligation to make sure that these places are accessible and inclusive for everyone.”

The organisations that apply need to be registered and compliant with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations.
