Zminijietna – Voice of the Left, is encouraging the public to vote for those MEP candidates “who are willing to work for peace.”

On the occasion of Freedom Day, Zminijietna stressed that it “will be supporting those candidates for the European Parliament elections who embrace a position in favour of peace in Europe and the Mediterranean region.”

Zminijietna added that “the atmosphere at the moment could lead to the widening of the conflict, both in Gaza and Europe. The united Left in Europe does not want us to go to the third world war due to the unsettled ramifications left over from the cold war period.”

The organisation insisted that “the same in Palestine, the lack of action by the western countries for an immediate permanent ceasefire could lead to a wider conflict in that region.”

Zminijietna reiterated that “the future of Europe is in the hands of the European citizens. Therefore we encourage those who until today said they will not vote to think about it and vote for candidates who are ready to work in favour of peace.”
