The number of tourists visiting Gozo and Comino in February, including both same-day and overnight visitors, totalled 77,083, or 44.9% of total tourists (168,967), the National Statistics Office said today. This was an increase of 32.2% on last year.

Latest data shows that total inbound tourists for February were estimated at 168,967, an increase of 27.5% when compared to the corresponding month of 2023.

British, Italian and Polish residents made up 44.5% of total inbound tourists in February.

The NSO noted that total nights spent amounted to 1,012,335, and total expenditure almost reached €114.3 million.

The largest share of guest nights (84.4%) were again spent in rented accommodation establishments.

Inbound tourists in the first two months of 2024 amounted to 340,988, an increase of 31.5% on last year while total nights spent surpassed 2.0 million nights, an increase of 9.4%.

Total tourism expenditure for the period January-February 2024 was estimated at €224.2 million, 20.5% higher than 2023 while expenditure per capita stood at €657, this was down from €692 last year.
