Joseph Borg, President of the Gozo Business Chamber and President of INSULEUR, was elected as Vice-Chair of the Island Advisory Committee, during a plenary meeting of the leading Committees of the Greening the Islands Observatory.

In his intervention during the meeting Joseph Borg highlighted that, “the role of the Island Advisory Committee is to identify islands’ challenges and priority needs with a focus on the circular economy. Given my involvement within INSULEUR, including as a President of this organisation for the past five years, I can bring competencies and experience to this committee.”

Borg added that “on various instances I have spoken about the importance of islands becoming more sustainable, and on the difficulties being faced by islands because of the impacts of climate change.”

“I have also highlighted how islands can provide the ideal tests beds where sustainable solutions are tested, providing also a positive impact on the local economy and creating new employment opportunities,” Joseph Borg concluded.
