Tennis star Pat Cash to visit Gozo later this monthTennis legend Pat Cash will be visiting Gozo in the last week of October. The visit is being arranged by the Malta Tourism Authority with the support of Air Malta and Vintage Travel. The star will holiday on the island with his family and spend time meeting young Maltese tennis players.

The star’s visit to Gozo will be featured in award winning Condé Nast Traveller’s bumper January 2010 issue, due out in December this year, just in time for the peak holiday booking season. Condé Nast is a top of the league travel magazine in the UK, with a circulation of 81,514 monthly. Its core readership of 335,000 are highly educated, intelligent and discerning high earners, who travel abroad four times a year for leisure and seven times per annum for business. Malta will feature alongside other hot holiday destinations.

During his stay, Pat Cash will also be giving a tennis clinic at the Marsa Sports Club, sponsored by the Malta Tennis Federation and the Marsa Sports Club. Former Maltese champion Gordon Asciak and Robert Tarpey are due to join Pat Cash for the session.

Alex Incorvaja, the Malta Tourism Authority’s UK and Ireland Director, comments: “Pat Cash is a real sporting legend and former Wimbledon Champion, so it’s really fantastic he is going to spend half a day meeting young Maltese tennis players and offering invaluable experience and tennis tips. We also want to give the Cash family the opportunity to experience the countless and diverse activities available to travellers who visit Gozo – an experience that will be well covered and promoted in the Condé Nast publication later on in the year.

“It is our sponsorship of BNP Parisbas Fortis Tennis Classic, held earlier this year at the prestigious Hurlingham tennis club, that has enabled the partnership with Pat Cash and thus with Condé Nast Traveller. To be associated with high profile events such as this is paramount as we aim to reach an ever-wider audience,” he concludes.

Other stars at the BNP Parisbas Fortis Tennis Classic, a non-ranking pre-Wimbledon warm up event, included Leyton Hewitt, Rafael Nadal and Marat Safin, as well as veterans of the game such as Greg Rusedski, making this event a must in the British tennis calendar.

Oh my gosh!! My wife Josie is an ardent tennis fan and has especially followed Pat Cash’s career. Sadly she is seriously ill and is confined to her room and cannot travel.

To meet Pat or any of the stars would be a dream come true. How can I make this happen?
