Power outages across parts of Gharb, Ghasri, Kercem, Santa Lucija and San Lawrenz in Gozo on Saturday, have been ongoing for many hours.
Enemalta said on its live updates that it is doing its ”utmost to have the power supply restored as soon as possible.”
There have been no updates from Energy Minister Miriam Dalli, or indeed Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri, who this week has been with the Prime Minister in Libya.
There have been power disruptions in areas across Gozo every day this week, with various same localities losing power on a daily basis
On Friday night, the live map displayed several parts of Gozo affected by a power outage, namely Gharb, Ghasri, Kercem, Victoria, San Lawrenz and Zebbug. All or parts of the localities were affected.
Only on Thursday, Enemalta advised that ”following a fault caused by a fire in an underground culvert, on one of our 33,000V cables supplying electricity to Gozo, our technicians and Engineers performed the necessary repairs on Tuesday.”
It added that, ”supply was provided using alternative sources throughout this operation.”
Enemalta then said that ”we are doing our utmost to continue strengthening our electricity distribution network in Malta and Gozo.”
