Non-urgent Police reports can now be completed onlineMalta Police have officially launched the Remote Reporting Unit, meaning that non-urgent reports can now be posted online rather than visiting a Police Station.

It said that for the past two weeks, the Police have been conducting a “soft launch with multiple success stories.”

The public can file a report from the comfort of their home or workplace using their computer, tablet or smartphone.

They will also be able to request a call-back and interact live with a trained police officer at their convenience.

The Police advised that reports can be made over familiar platforms such as WhatsApp, Google Meet, FaceTime, Teams or a regular voice call.

The types of reports that can be made include, non-emergency incidents, and situations not requiring immediate intervention.

In cases of an urgent nature, such as health related matters, the public should call emergency numbers 112 or 119, Police said.

The Police stated that “our highly trained staff will ensure your report is accurately captured and promptly processed. For cases needing further investigation, the report will be referred to the respective district or unit for follow-up.”
