In June, the monthly unemployment rate was 3.1%, decreasing by 0.1 percentage point from May, the National Statistics Office said today.
It noted that during June, the number of unemployed persons was 9,865, with the 25 to 74 age group being the major contributor to the overall level of unemployment.
The unemployment rate for males in this same month was 3.6% while the rate for females stood at 2.4%.
The unemployment rate during June for persons aged 15 to 24 years (youth unemployment rate) was 8.4% while the rate for those between 25 and 74 years stood at 2.6%.
