The Gozo Region was represented by Dr Samuel Azzopardi, the Gozo Region President in a courtesy meeting at San Anton Palace between the Local Councils’ Association and President Myriam Spiteri Debono.
During the meeting, the representatives of the Association explained the role of the Local Councils’ Association and the set-up of local governance.
The Association brings together Regional and Local Councils through collaborative planning aimed at raising awareness of the role of local and regional councils.
Information regarding the workings of each of the Regional Councils was also given by the respective Presidents of each Region present for the meeting.
Dr Azzopardi discussed the importance of giving a voice to children and youths in the planning of the locality as it is their future.
