During her visit to Gozo over the Santa Marija celebrations, President Myriam Spiteri Debono met with Alda Bugeja of Gozo Weaving & Creations in Victoria, who is passing on the traditional craft of weaving to a new generation of children.

Alda Bugeja emphasised the importance of preserving this craft, explaining that this is what drives her to teach weaving to children, even from a young age.

President Spiteri Debono expressed her admiration for the pieces made from traditional and sustainable materials with modern designs.

“This approach ensures that the woven fabrics from Gozo align with the expectations and tastes of today’s generation,” the President said.
