Bank of Valletta have issued a warning over scammers who are posing as BOV employees, claiming to be reviewing customer accounts. This technique is called spoofing

BOV provided a list of information that “we do not ask for over the phone:”

Account number, Card number, CVV number, PIN number, Passwords for Internet / Mobile Banking, One-time passwords (OTP) or Multi-factor authentication (MFA).

The Bank warned customers not to give out this information to anyone who asks for it over the phone.
