Revised law will see construction permits suspended until appeal process exhaustedMinister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri has advised that where permits are still in the appeal stage, they will they remain suspended until the entire appeal process is exhausted before the Environment and Planning Tribunal or before the Court of Appeal..

In a statement on Friday, the Minister explained that the revision proposed in the law will be presented to the Cabinet in the coming days,

“The review of the present law will ensure that there is no construction in a case where a permit is still in the appeal stage,” Camilleri said.

He added that, “the review will ensure that the appeal process is faster where decisions are made in the shortest possible time, this with the aim of making the process itself fairer to everyone.”
