The National Statistics data released today show that the number of registered unemployed in September increased again, this time by 105 persons over September 2023 levels, to 1,109. However, it fell slightly on August, when the number stood at 1,138.
Figures revealed that males accounted for 68.9% or 764 of total registrants while females accounted for the remaining 31.1% or 345 registrants.
It was also noted that increases in the registered unemployment levels were recorded in the majority of the age groups.
The number of persons with a disability registering for work remained constant over the same period in 2023 at 234. Males accounted for 74.8% of total registrants with a disability.
Clerical support jobs were the most common occupations sought by the registered unemployed.
