The Government, in a statement on Sunday, said that it has been “closely monitoring the Steward Health Care Chapter 11 proceedings since their initiation in May 2024.”
“The arbitration proceedings before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) are currently at an advanced stage, with written pleadings expected to be concluded in the coming months,” it added.
The Government went on to say that has engaged U.S. bankruptcy lawyers “who are providing expert guidance throughout this process.”
The Governmental has a deadline of midnight Malta time on the 4th of November, to file claims within the bankruptcy proceedings.
“It must be emphasised that any further public comments on this matter could be prejudicial to the Government’s position in the arbitration,” it said.
