Haley Xuereb is the winners of the 2024 Youth4Entrepreneurship Gozo Award and with it a €500 prize.

The Gozo Business Chamber said that Hayley submitted her business idea ‘It-Tiswija: The Repair Café’ which gathered the most votes from the panel of experts.

Tiswija’s mission is repairing items that would otherwise be discarded and reselling them at reduced prices to low-income individuals.

By repurposing goods, the project addresses waste reduction and affordability. Workshops on sewing, woodworking, and electronics repairs empower the community, creating a culture of sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Tiswija adopts a repair-first mentality, alleviating pressure on landfills, and preventing pollution.

Tiswija is a hub for both skilled tradespeople and volunteers, forging an environment where craftsmanship and environmental responsibility merge.

The Gozo Business Chamber expressed its thanks to all other participants who made this year’s competition possible. “We had a tough competition this year.”

The Chamber added that it would like to “thank you for submitting your business proposals. Going on stage in front of a panel of experts and an audience is not easy, we truly hope that this event spurs you on to achieve bigger things in the future.”
