€5,214,134 has been raised in donations for the 2024 edition of L-Istrina. The event got underway at midday yesterday at the Kirkop Sports Complex and in Independence Square, Victoria, Gozo.

Istrina is held to raise money in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund, to be used for those who are less fortunate.

The day after Christmas is now synonymous with this annual charity fundraising 12-hour telethon, which last year raised €5,279,000.
