The Gozo General Hospital has a new CT Scanner, bringing the number at the hospital to two. The investment in the new scanner was announced by Health Minister Jo Etienne Abela in June last year.
The Health Minister said that using the one scanner a median of 150 scans had been carried out per week at the Gozo Hospital.
With the additional scanner at the Gozo General Hospital and the three currently in use at Mater Dei Hospital, they will be able to carry out an additional 20 scans per day, five days a week, Abela said.
