Over the last week week, 121 drivers were fined by the Malta Police for driving over the speed limit in various localities across the Maltese Islands.

Police said that during these routine inspections, several other fines/charges were issued for traffic regulation violations, including driving under the influence of alcohol, using a mobile phone while driving, driving without a valid license and persons not wearing seat belts, among others.

While the Police’s efforts in this regard “will continue in the coming days,” the Police said its appeal remains “for drivers to observe traffic regulations with respect for their own lives and the lives of others on the road.”
