A group of Mayors from the region of Calabria in Italy visited Gozo on a day trip and had the opportunity to visit several places of interest and meet with the local Mayors. The visit was arranged by the Link School of English in Malta and the delegation was led by Giuseppe Scopelliti Mayor of Reggio Calabria.

Mayor Scopelliti is running a project to assess the links between Calabria and Malta and to strengthen and promote Malta in the region of Calabria. Accompanying Mayor Scopelliti were all the mayors from the region of Calabria who are interested in this project, they were able to find out about what had already been achieved and on the plans for the future.

At a meeting held at the Citadel, Parliamentary Secretary for Public Dialogue and Information Chris Said thanked Mayor Scopelliti for the work that is being undertaken to strengthen ties with Malta.
