The Citadel in Gozo and Mdina in Malta are being submitted to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, Prime Minister Robert Abela announced on Sunday.

He said that the Government is also working on Malta’s candidacy for the upcoming November elections for the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

Abela remarked that gaining World Heritage status would showcase their international profile, while preserving them for the future generations.
