As part of a programme of visits marking Workers’ Day 2025, Nationalist Party Leader Bernard Grech, together with Shadow Ministers Chris Said, Joe Giglio and Toni Bezzina, and PN candidates in Gozo Norma Camilleri, Beppe Galea, Frank Anthony Tabone and Luke Said, visited the employees of Magro Brothers and their artisan branch, Savina, in Gozo.

This company – which has grown significantly while preserving its passion for authenticity – has successfully diversified and penetrated foreign markets that now favour Gozitan products over others from various countries, Grech said.

It was explained that the Magro family’s commitment to innovation over time has been a vital ingredient in the company’s success. Today, the business employs more than 230 people. Twenty-eight farmers supply the company with fresh produce, which is processed using machinery in which the company has invested over the years. As a result, these products are now found not only on local tables but also on the shelves of leading supermarkets abroad.

The Magro family has also wisely invested in Savina, a branch specialising in artisanal products that have found a strong market both locally and internationally.

The Magro Brothers’ story does not end here, as the company explained that it is continuing to invest with the goal of doubling its production within the next three years.

PN Leader Bernard Grech stated that all “this is proof of what can be achieved through prudence and passion by those who truly believe in their product or idea. A worker who wants to grow and thrive will always find the Nationalist Party standing by them, offering support as they strive to reach their full potential.”

He went on to say that “a future Nationalist Government will invest in infrastructure to improve connectivity between the two islands – not just for passengers, but also for freight – so that business between Malta and Gozo, as well as import and export operations, become easier and more efficient.”

“If we do not invest in our country’s infrastructure, it would mean we are choosing to stop in our tracks,” stated Grech. “A new Nationalist Government is determined to continue the serious investment initiated years ago – an investment that is still yielding benefits to this day.”

Later, the PN Leader also visited Gozo Graphics, a printing company based in Nadur. Jonathan Grech, who founded the company a few years ago, is now seeing the fruits of his investment, while also contributing to the Gozitan and Maltese economy.
