National Statistics Office figures released today show that the number of registered unemployed in March decreased by 87 persons over March 2024 levels, to 1,057.

The figures revealed that males accounted for 67.5% or 713 of total registrants while females accounted for the remaining 32.5% or 344 registrants.

The NSO noted that the most significant change in the registered unemployment level by age group was recorded by those aged 45 and over, equivalent to 69 people or 13.8% when compared to the same month last year.

The number of persons with a disability registering for work went down by 15 persons over the same period in 2024 at 222. Males accounted for 76.6% of total registrants with a disability.

Clerical support jobs were as usual, the most common occupations sought by both male and female registered unemployed.
