A 39-year old motorcyclist was grievously injured in a traffic accident late Friday afternoon in Xewkija, Gozo.

Police said that the accident happened at around 5.30pm in Triq l-Imgarr.

The the motorcyclist, who is from Xaghra, was riding a KTM motorbike which was involved in a collision with a Mazda CX-3 being driven by a 36-year old woman, also from Xaghra.

A medical team provided first assistance at the scene before the man was taken to the Gozo General Hospital where he was certified as grievously injured.

Police investigations are ongoing.
