Xaghra Fig Festival: A celebration of figs and culinary talent

This coming Saturday, the beautiful hilltop village of Xaghra will be once again be hosting the Fig Festival – now an integral part of the cultural calendar for Xaghra and Gozo.
The soil around Xaghra offers the best conditions for fig trees to grow and Victory Square, in the heart of this village, will be the setting for a celebration of figs and culinary talent – making it a wonderful family event. The festival will bring together farming, culture and crafts.
There will be musical accompaniment by The Police ultimate tribute show, supported by John Cash, folk dances, as well as children’s entertainment and play area, to name but a few…..
Organised by the Xaghra Local Council, the festival gets underway from 7pm onwards, on Saturday, the 21st of June.
The event has been made possible through funds issued by the Ministry for Gozo and Planning and the Local Government Division for cultural activities schemes.
Admission to the event is free of charge.
