The Gozo Regional Development Authority’s Senior Manager for Research & Policy, Mr Juergen Attard, recently delivered a presentation at the International Conference on “Multi-level Governance Approaches to Address Environmental Challenges,” held under the Maltese Presidency of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers.
Mr Attard spoke about the GRDA’s role in promoting a “bottom-up, evidence-based approach” to policymaking in Gozo.
He highlighted Gozo’s “steady economic and demographic growth” over recent decades – progress that brings with it the need for more “sustainable and future-proof development models.”
The Gozo Regional Development Strategy captures this long-term vision and is complemented by ongoing GRDA initiatives, including the development of a Climate Neutrality Plan for Gozo, explained Mr Attard.
The GRDA said that, “together, these efforts aim to ensure that Gozo’s growth is not only economically robust, but also environmentally and socially sustainable – fully aligned with Malta’s national 2050 vision.”
