The Left think-tank organisation Zminijietna is urging the relevant authorities to introduce a ban on outdoor work in the hottest hours of the day.

In a statement, the organisation pointed out that, “Liguria region in northern Italy has introduced such a law, and the country’s trade unions are campaigning to extend the measure to other regions.”

Zminijietna concluded by urging trade unions in Malta “to campaign in this regard, as a matter of health and safety issue.”
