A new book has been published in the Maltese language that addresses the subject of dementia among the elderly in an educational way, with the aim of helping children relate to this condition from a young age.

‘Id-Dentatura tan-Nanna Tisparixxi’ tells the story of a grandmother who gradually begins to forget essential things and involves her grandchildren in an adventure that brings a smile, while continuing to raise awareness about this condition.

The Government explained that the purpose of the book goes beyond simple reading; it is an educational tool that encourages empathy among children and explains in an appropriate way memory loss, which is often the first sign of dementia. The illustrations in this book continue to bring the characters to life and help the message to get across.
