A public call for the appointment of two Judges and two Magistrates has been issued by the Ministry for Justice and the Reform of the Construction Sector.
In a statement, the Ministry advised that eligible applicants who satisfy the criteria established under the Constitution of Malta and who express their interest will be assessed by the Judicial Appointments Committee, constituted in accordance with Article 96A of the Constitution.
Following the evaluation process, the President will be entitled to appoint Judges or Magistrates from among the list of candidates recommended by the Committee, the Ministry said.
The statement continued by saying that “this initiative forms part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the judiciary, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to a more efficient and specialised justice system. It follows the appointment of two additional Magistrates in May of this year.”
Interested individuals are invited to submit their application, together with all requisite documentation, no later than Tuesday, the 26th of August, at 12pm, addressed to the Secretary of the Judicial Appointments Committee.
