Two men were grievously injured during separate, but related incidents on Tuesday night in Gozo.

Police said at around 9,45pm that they were informed of an argument near an establishment in St. Francis Square, Victoria.

At the scene, Police found a 44-year-old Syrian man, who lives in Victoria, with injuries to his head. A medical team was called to the scene and he was taken to the Gozo General Hospital.

While the police were still at the scene conducting their investigations, they were informed of another argument in Mgarr, and that the persons involved were apparently the same ones that had been involved in the earlier argument in Victoria.

A medical team provided assistance to another Syrian man at Mgarr, who was also taken to the Gozo General Hospital, where both individuals were certified as having sustained grievous injuries.

The Police said that they are continuing their investigations and are speaking to several people involved.
