Local Enforcement System Agency (LESA) officers said that, together with Malta Police, they are conducting “frequent road checks to improve road safety.”

LESA said that during the latest roadside checks performed, 86 vehicles were inspected, and 72 contraventions were issued, 7 of them will be referred to court due to the nature of their offence.

Contraventions issued during the checks include driving without a seatbelt, using a mobile phone whilst driving and invalid road license.

“Our main priority remains, keeping Malta’s roads safe for everyone,” said LESA.
