Stage and Proms on the Sea – 10th edition with the Gozo Youth Wind Band

Stage and Proms on the Sea will be under the spotlights once again next month within the beautiful setting of Mgarr Marina in Gozo.

This very popular concert, now in its 10th edition, is being presented by the Gozo Youth Wind Band within the The Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra and will be reminiscent of London West-End shows and evergreen masterpieces from the Proms.

The audience will be able to enjoy excerpts and medleys from musicals as well as classic encores performed in Proms Final Night held at the Royal Albert Hall.

This year, the line-up of singers include Ludwig Galea and Clara Sciberras, both well-renowned in the local musical theatre scene. They will be accompanying the Gozo Youth Wind Band under the direction of its founder and musical director Mro Dr Joseph Grech.

Ludwig and Clara will perform brand new arrangements while including encore numbers from past events at the patron’s requests, the Band said.

Stage and Proms on the Sea is taking place on Wednesday, the 10th of September, starting at 8.30pm, at the Mgarr Marina, Gozo.

Entrance is free of charge (standing). An optional premium VIP designated seated area including welcome drink and food is also available strictly by reservation.

The Band said that this initiative is being supported by the Ministry for Gozo and Planning, The Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo and in collaboration with: MTA, Visit Gozo, General Soft Drinks Ltd, Paul Stellini Design Studio, Arts Council Malta, Malta International Airport, The Duke Boutique Hotel and Mgarr Marina.

Events to follow – The Gozo Youth Wind Band and Orchestra advised that also in September there will be The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber 2 featuring local and international singers featuring the most classic masterpieces of the musical theatre genius – Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.

This will be held on Wednesday, the 24th of September, at the Grandmaster’s Suite, Hilton Malta. Tickets for this event can be obtained from: www.showshappening.com.
