A further extension of the BCRS system should be the impetus to reduce and improve waste management, said the Left think-tank organisation Zminijietna.

In statement is noted that “the BCRS system is working and is contributing a lot in the separation of waste. But this process should be extended further to include further items under this scheme.”

The organisation stressed that “wine bottles, spirits, plastic containers and beverages left out from the system should be included. The refund scheme system is scientifically proven that wherever it was applied resulted in a positive outcome.”

Zminijietna concluded by saying that “policing and enforcement should target littering, taking out waste not on the day, and blocking of pavement.”
