catsSo far this year more than 700 cats have been neutered, meaning that the total since the start of the National Campaign has now exceeded 4,500 cats.

Animal Rights Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said noted that “this is an important achievement in the electoral promise of this Government, which not only helps to reduce the population and diseases among stray cats, but also helps the cat feeders who with great dedication take care of a number of cats around Malta and Gozo.”

Ms Bugeja Said thanked everyone that carried out voluntary work and for the love they show these cats every day.

“As we announced last year, the campaign has also been extended to bully breed dogs and dogs in rural areas. So far more than 85 dogs have been neutered – another important step in continuing to protect the welfare of our animals, she said.
