The Gozo Diocese has announced that Pope Leo XIV has appointed Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod and Bishop Emeritus of Gozo, as a member of the Dicastery for the Clergy.

The Diocese said that in recent years, Pope Francis had already appointed Cardinal Grech as a member of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, and the Dicasteries for Bishops and Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

“We continue to promise Cardinal Grech our prayers in his work for the good of the universal Church,” said the Gozo Diocese.
