Following the third night from hatching, on Saturday morning an inspection took place of Turtle Angela’s nest, at Ramla Bay, Gozo, in the presence of Nature Trust – FEE Malta , Nature Trust – FEE Malta – Gozo Section officials, one of Wildlife Rescue Malta’s veterinarians, and ERA – Environment & Resources Authority officials.

It was found that the nest contained a total of 69 eggs.

Out of these, 7 were not fertilised, and the remaining 62 hatched successfully.From the total nest there was a 90% hatch rate. Out of the fertilised eggs, there was a 100% hatch rate.

This concludes the nesting season for 2025 on the Maltese Islands, with 319 hatchlings in total making it to the sea.

Wildlife Rescue Malta said that none of this work would be possible without the over 300 volunteers between Malta and Gozo, who monitor the nests day and night.
