Ornis votes in favour of FKNK proposals on trapping and researchThe Federation for Hunting and Conservation has advised that the Ornis Committee, in its meeting on Monday, voted in favour of the proposals put by FKNK on trapping and research.

“As a result of a majority vote in favour, at the meeting of the Ornis Committee it was decided that the Committee recommends to the Minister the proposals submitted by the FKNK,” it said.

The organisation added that this would be in order to open the Thrush and Golden Plover trapping seasons on the same parameters as last year, as well as for the continuation of the “Song bird Research Programme.”

FKNK concluded by saying that, “the Minister’s final decision (Gozo and Planning Minister Clint Camilleri – also responsible for hunting) is expected to be taken in the coming days.”
