A 43-year old motorcyclist was grievously injured in a traffic accident on Triq L-Imgarr, Ghajnsielem, Gozo.

The accident happened at around 9am on Friday morning,. Police said that the collision was between between a Mitsubishi L200 driven by a 35-year old man from Xaghra and a Suzuki GSXR motorbike being ridden by a 43-year old man from Nadur. A 19-year old youth was a passenger on the bike.

As a result of the accident, a Toyota Corolla that was being driven by a 67-year old man from Qala and an Alfa Romeo that was being driven by a 55-year old man from Munxar, also suffered some damages.

The motorcyclist and his passenger were taken to the Gozo General Hospital, where the man was certified to have sustained grievous injuries while the young passenger sustained slight injuries.

Magistrate Dr Brigitte Sultana LL.D was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
