23-year old woman seriously injured in Ghajnsielem accident

A 23-year old woman from Ghajnsielem was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Gozo during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police said that the accident happened at around 3.45am on Saturday morning in Mgarr Road, Ghajnsielem.
A BMW 118D, being driven by a 22-year old woman from Qala, crashed into a pole. With her in the car were two passengers, the 23-year old woman from Ghajnsielem and a 21-year old man from Sannat.
A medical team provided first assistance at the scene. The two passengers were transferred to the Gozo General Hospital. The driver was also taken to hospital later, suffering from shock.
The Police were later informed that the young man was not injured and that the 23-year-old woman was in a stable condition.
However, at around 6pm in the evening, the Police said that they were informed that the condition of the 23-year old woman had changed and she was certified as suffering from serious injuries.
Duty Magistrate Brigitte Sultana was notified of the case and set up an inquiry.
Police investigations are ongoing.
