On Saturday, a friendship agreement was officially sealed between the City of Victoria and the Spanish city of Jerez de la Frontera.
The signing was carried out by Mayor of Victoria Brian Azzopardi and the Mayor of Jerez de la Frontera, María Jose García-Pelayo.
These two cities are currently vying for the title of European Capital of Culture in their respective countries.
The ceremony took place inside the Victoria Council building – the Banca Giuratale – as well as in Independence Square, where this new partnership was celebrated in a solemn and symbolic manner, including a concert by La Stella Band students, under the direction of Mro Michael Bonanno.
The Presenter for the evening was Dr Paul George Pisani.
