76 people arrested during inspections in Malta and Gozo to be repatriated

In recent days, the Police assisted by the Detention Services Agency, Transport Malta, Jobs Plus and Identita, conducted coordinated inspections on several buses in Malta and Gozo, as well as on private and work vehicles, where 76 people were found living in the country irregularly.
The Police said that these people, who hail from Syria, Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana, Ethiopia, the Ivory Coast, Mali, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia and Serbia are being held at a detention centre pending repatriation.
Police will be continuing with these intensive efforts in the coming days and weeks, they said.
