The Gozo Regional Development Authority has completed a Regional Impact Assessment on Gozo’s current waste collection system, examining how the Waste Management Plan affects Gozo differently from the rest of Malta.

The GRDA explained that as part of the study, it engaged widely with stakeholders, as well as organise focus group discussions with local councils, hotels and restaurants, and self-catering accommodation providers. Two field surveys were also conducted: one with a representative sample of Gozo residents and another with visitors staying in self-catering units.

The Authority is now inviting all stakeholders and the public to share their ideas, concerns, and suggestions on the issues highlighted in the report.

It said that “your input can help us create a cleaner, more efficient, and effective waste collection system for Gozo.”
